Gardiner is the gateway to Yellowstone Park through the Paradise Valley. It is a small collection of gas stations, souvenir stores and motels. REALLY. EXPENSIVE. MOTELS.
It is all relative I guess but sample prices were $158 for a small cabin, $230 for a Comfort Inn and $258 for the Super 8. Similar prices for the Yellowstone Inn.
I decided to stay in the Hotel Subaru located high above town on a pull out overlooking the park.
I cranked back the drivers seat and, while I was not comfortable, I was not unable to sleep.
This is what my morning view looked like.
Beautiful! Would love to visit a place like this.
